Our standard trusses come with a crow’s feet design but we are open to any unique designs you may have. And the engineering aspects also allow Gable Roofs to achieve much wider spans without supporting posts than Flat Roofs.

If your house eaves are quite low then we recommend adding doglegs to raise the ceiling of the patio. That way you get a taller overall roof and we also add a polycarbonate cover in the raised section for extra sunlight and a stylish effect. You can also add polycarb end truss covers to enclose the patio at the ends.

Our gable roof patio packages also come with the option to add polycarb skylight sheets in between the steel roof sheets. We suggest keeping the skylight sheets near to the windows so that you still get a decent stream of light into your house. You may even choose from a variety of skylight colours from Clear (100% UV), Opal (50% UV), Cream (50% UV) or Dark Grey (80% UV).

Roof sheets come in two profile types: Trimdeck or Corrugated. In most situations we recommend Trimdeck for its clean straight lines and smooth finish. But Corrugated is also available for those looking to match an existing steel roof on the house. Corrguated is also preferred for hip roof designs for more elegant edge cuts.

Gable Patio

All our patios come with gutters and downpipes as standard as per engineering certifications. We employ a special kissing gutter design so that our gable patios have a separate gutter system from the house. This is much better than the traditional box gutter system that requires cutting into the existing house gutter and risks causing damage and leaks.

Almost all patio constructions in WA require council approval and we are happy to provide this service along with our patio packages. Council can be a trial to deal with so we take the hassle away by handling all the paperwork, patio design drafts, engineering certs and building permits. Occasionally a patio proposal will require development/planning approval from council, which can be a lot of work for property owners to handle by themselves. Mackson will also help to guide you through these types of applications.
